Born in Ankara in 1960. After graduating from Bornova Anadolu High School in 1978 and Ege University Faculty of Medicine in 1984, he began his medical career with a two-year mandatory service at the Department of Anesthesiology and Resuscitation at Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine, and continued his career with a residency in Urology at the same university.
After becoming a Urology Specialist in 1991, he continued his work at the same university.
In 1992, he spent four months at the Department of Urology at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, USA, conducting research on Endoscopic Stone Surgery and Urological Cancers, and participated in numerous surgical procedures in these fields.
In 1996 and 1997, he spent six months at the Department of Urology at LIJ Medical Center in New York, USA, participating in endoscopic stone surgery procedures and treatment and research related to prostate diseases.
He was promoted to Associate Professor in 1997 and to Professor in 2003.
He stepped down from his position as Chair of the Department of Urology in 2007 and left the university. He continued performing surgeries at Istanbul Surgical Hospital from 2007 to 2010 and at Acıbadem Fulya Hospital from 2010 to 2025.
He has participated in numerous national and international scientific conferences and meetings related to endoscopic urological surgeries (primarily complex stone surgery) as an invited speaker, moderator, panelist, and course instructor, and has performed surgeries live from the operating room during many of these events.
As of 2026, he continues to care for patients at his private practice and share his expertise with colleagues.
