Born in Ankara in 1960, he graduated from Bornova Anadolu High School in 1978 and from Ege University Faculty of Medicine in 1984. He began his medical career with two years of compulsory service at the Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation, Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine, and subsequently continued his training at the Department of Urology of the same university.
After completing his residency and becoming a Specialist in Urology in 1991, he continued his academic and clinical career at Çukurova University.
In 1992, he spent four months at the Department of Urology, University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles, USA, where he participated in clinical studies and numerous surgical procedures involving endoscopic stone surgery and urologic oncology.
In 1996 and 1997, he spent a total of six months at the Department of Urology, Long Island Jewish (LIJ) Medical Center, New York, USA, where he participated in endoscopic stone surgery as well as clinical treatment and research related to prostate diseases.
He was appointed Associate Professor of Urology in 1997 and Professor of Urology in 2003.
In 2004, he was appointed Chair of the Department of Urology at Çukurova University. He stepped down from this position and left the university in 2007. He continued his surgical practice at Istanbul Surgery Hospital from 2007 to 2010 and at Acıbadem Fulya Hospital from 2010 to 2025.
Throughout his career, he has been invited to numerous national and international scientific congresses and meetings as a speaker, moderator, panelist, and course instructor, particularly in the field of endoscopic urologic surgery, with a special focus on complex urinary stone surgery. He has also performed numerous live surgical procedures transmitted directly from the operating room during scientific meetings and educational programs.
Since 2026, he has been seeing patients in his private practice while continuing to share his knowledge and extensive surgical experience with colleagues.
